Within the framework of the national strategy of sustainable development “Egypt 2030,” Faculty of Science began the first phase of rooftop cultivation under the patronage of Professor Hassan Alnoman, President of the University, Professor. Khaled Omran, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Professor. Hazem Al-Mushanab, Dean of Faculty of Science, Professor. Alaa Yousry, Vice Dean of the faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, with the participation of Professor. Hamdy Hamada Hassanein, Professor at faculty of science and Director of the Center of Sustainable Development at the University, Dr. Enas Muhammad Ali, Scientific Supervisor of the University Gardens and Coordinator of Sustainable Development at faculty of Agriculture, and Dr. Ali Muhammad Ali, Coordinator of Sustainable Development at faculty of Science.

Professor Hamdy praised this experience and expressed his happiness, saying that it is a promising beginning for planting roofs for all the university’s faculties.

He also appreciated the efforts of the faculty of Science for taking the initiative, as it is the first faculty to implement this environmentally friendly activity in order to mitigate climate change.
