Sohag University completes the planting of 1,000 fruit trees, as part of the presidential initiative launched by President Sisi to plant 100 million fruit trees, and in cooperation with the Hangmelha( we will beautify it) Foundation, at the university’s new headquarters
Dr Hassan Al-Nomany, President of the University, followed up the afforestation works at the new headquarters, stressing the importance of participating in the initiative to plant a fruitful tree, in order to encourage members of the university to be aware about the culture of afforestation, which is one of the important behaviors that has a great environmental impact. In addition to reducing the negative effects of climate change, promoting the values of beauty, and spreading the culture of environmental sustainability, pointing to the importance of coordination and cooperation between all the relevant parties, whether governmental, non-governmental, and civil society institutions, to spread the culture of afforestation.
Dr. Yasser Abdel Fattah Mahmoud, Director General of Administrative Affairs, indicated that 1,000 fruit trees were planted last September, and another 1,000 fruit trees, olives, mangos, oranges, and figs, are now being planted.
