Sohag University president participates in the closing ceremony of the second phase of Masar project to promote innovation for sustainable development in Upper Egypt.

In the presence of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Cairo,

Prof. Hassan Al-Nomany, Sohag University president, participated in the closing ceremony of the second phase of the Masar project, which is implemented by Enroute Development in cooperation with the university and with funding from the Dutch government, in the presence of Peter Mollema, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Cairo, prof. Ahmed Al-Akkawi, President of South Valley University, and Dr. Hanna Grace, Member of the Council of Ministers. Chairman of the Board of Directors of Enroot Development, Dr. Hani Al Salamouni, Executive Director of Enroot Development, Dr. Ashraf Okasha, Director of Masar Incubator, and a number of representatives of government institutions, international cooperation organizations, the United Nations, the private sector, and investment destinations, in one of the major hotels in Cairo.

Prof. Hassan Al-Nomani said that the event discussed the most important achievements achieved through the Masar project and the role of the universities participating in implementing the project, and supporting entrepreneurs in Upper Egypt, explaining that the Masar incubator, through its various programs, works to remove fears among young people about entering non-traditional economic sectors.

Al-Numani stressed that the Masar project at the university implemented 72 training camps on entrepreneurship, with a total number of beneficiaries of 6,850 entrepreneurs, where the percentage of girls’ participation in it exceeded 65% of the total beneficiaries.

Worthy mentioning is that also provided technical support and guidance to 215 emerging projects
