Staff Members and Leaders Capabilities Development Center at Sohag University organized a training program on sustainable development at the university for 24 assistant lecturers and demonstrators from various faculties at the university, within the framework of Bedaya initiative by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and in fulfillment of the university’s mission to implement sustainable development goals.
Dr. Hassan Al-Nomany, President of the University, said that the general goal of the training program is to provide participants with knowledge and skills related to sustainable development, while urging them to adopt its objectives and apply them in the various axes of university work.
He pointed out that the program included giving the participants the skills of sustainability and sustainable development and discussing various sustainable development goals and mechanisms for achieving them.
Dr. Khaled Omran, Vice President of the University for Environmental Service and Community Development Affairs and a lecturer in the training course, added that the program explained the mechanisms for implementing sustainable development in higher education institutions.
The participants also presented proposals to achieve sustainable development goals in education and scientific research and the role of students, staff members and university leaders to accomplish this.
It is worth noting that Dr. Khaled Abdel Latif Omran, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Dr. Hamdy Hassanein, Director of the Sustainable Development Center at the University, gave the lectures of the training program.
At the end of the program, the impact of the training was evaluated and its various elements were evaluated, and certificates were delivered to the program participants. .
