The Faculty of Education at Sohag University organized a cultural and scientific seminar entitled “Egypt’s Efforts Towards a Sustainable Future: The Transformation Journey in the Energy Sector”, in cooperation with the Sohag Culture Palace. The seminar was attended by Dr. Khaled Omran, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development; Dr. Hussein Taha, Dean of the Faculty; Dr. Mohamed Abdel Wahab, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Dr. Ahmed Saber, Director of the Sohag Culture Palace.

Dr. Hassan El-Noumani, President of Sohag University, affirmed that the university places strong emphasis, within its strategic plan, on supporting scientific research in the field of renewable energy and raising students’ awareness of the importance of sustainability. He added that the university is also committed to implementing applied projects in cooperation with state institutions and the private sector to contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (Egypt Vision 2030). These efforts reflect the university’s leading role in serving the community and promoting national awareness of environmental and energy-related issues.

Dr. Khaled Omran explained that Egypt’s ongoing transformation in the energy sector represents a global model of sound planning and efficient resource management, reflecting the political leadership’s vision of building a national economy based on knowledge and clean technology. He added that, through the Community Service Sector, the university seeks to empower young people to become “ambassadors of positive change in their communities,” urging students to adopt environmentally responsible practices in their daily lives.

Dr. Hussein Taha stated that the Faculty is committed to preparing enlightened teachers who are fully aware of environmental and economic challenges. He emphasized that teachers who understand environmental and energy issues constitute the primary foundation for building a generation capable of protecting the nation’s resources and actively contributing to sustainable development.

Dr. Ahmed Saber, Director of the Sohag Culture Palace, expressed his pleasure at the fruitful cooperation with Sohag University, stating: “Culture and education are the two fundamental pillars of societal progress, and seminars such as this play a vital role in building genuine public awareness that supports the state’s efforts toward the transition to clean energy.”
